On September 19, 2025, the China Automotive Collision Repair Technology Research Center and Joyson Electronics jointly introduced a battery ejection technology and conducted a real-vehicle demonstration. This technology can eject the battery from the vehicle body to a safe area 3 to 6 meters away within 1 second when the battery experiences thermal runaway, achieving separation between the vehicle and the battery. The ejection mechanism utilizes a gas generator, the same power source as used in automotive airbags.
