According to reports from CCTV, China’s automotive sector has achieved a groundbreaking milestone! Yangwang, a premium brand under BYD, has announced that its U9 Xtreme model completed its maiden run at Germany’s renowned Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit with a record-breaking lap time of 6 minutes and 59.157 seconds. This achievement makes it the first mass-produced pure electric vehicle (EV) to break the 7-minute barrier at the legendary track. Beyond its lap record, the U9 Xtreme also achieved a staggering top speed of 496.22 kilometers per hour, earning it ATP certification in Germany and securing its position as the world’s fastest mass-produced car.
