On September 19, the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation issued a notice. It stated that Xiaomi Automobile Co., Ltd. had completed the filing of a recall plan in compliance with relevant regulations. The company decided to recall a certain number of SU7 Standard Edition electric vehicles produced from February 6, 2024, to August 30, 2025, amounting to 116,900 units in total. The reason for the recall is that when the L2 highway navigation-assisted driving function is activated, some vehicles may exhibit inadequate recognition, warning, or handling capabilities in extremely specific scenarios. If the driver fails to intervene promptly, the risk of collision could increase, thus posing a safety hazard.

Xiaomi Automobile will offer free software upgrades for the recalled vehicles using OTA (Over-the-Air) technology to eliminate the hazard. It will also notify vehicle owners through text messages, mobile apps, and other channels. This OTA software upgrade is designed to enhance the reliability of the assisted driving function. This includes optimizing speed control strategies and introducing dynamic speed functions to make the highway navigation-assisted driving function operate more smoothly. Vehicle owners simply need to upgrade their vehicle's system to the Xiaomi HyperOS 1.10.0 version to complete the recall upgrade.

It's worth mentioning that this isn't the first recall for Xiaomi Automobile. The company also recalled a portion of SU7 Standard Edition electric vehicles in January this year.
