Tesla Gets Approval to Test Robotaxi in Arizona

On September 20th, according to foreign media reports, Tesla has received approval to test autonomous vehicles equipped with safety monitors in Arizona, marking a significant step in its expansion of the autonomous taxi business beyond Austin. Tesla reached out to the Arizona Department of Transportation in late June to initiate the certification process for autonomous vehicle ride-sharing and indicated plans to launch the service in downtown Phoenix. This approval makes Arizona the third state, after Texas and Nevada, where Tesla is permitted to test autonomous taxis, with activities in the latter two states receiving approval earlier this month. In June of this year, Tesla launched this service to some early users in Austin.
