In a landmark ruling today, the People's Court of Daxing District in Beijing delivered its verdict in a sales contract dispute case brought by Ms. Zhang against Tesla (Beijing) Automobile Sales and Service Co., Ltd., along with other associated parties. The court determined that Tesla, in its capacity as a business operator, is obligated to uphold the consumer's right to information. It mandated Tesla to furnish Ms. Zhang with the comprehensive driving data from the 30-minute period leading up to the accident. Prior to this, Ms. Zhang had staged multiple protests, voicing concerns over brake malfunctions in her Tesla vehicle and insisting that Tesla release the full driving data—requests that were previously ignored.
