On September 13th, it was reported that eight ministries and commissions, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, jointly issued the 'Work Plan for Sustained Growth in the Automotive Industry (2025–2026)'. The plan underscores the importance of driving the industrial application of intelligent connected vehicle technology. Concrete actions outlined in the plan encompass: carrying out in-depth pilot projects for the 'integration of vehicles, roads, and cloud' in intelligent connected vehicles, expediting the development of connected infrastructure and cloud control platforms; advocating the pre-installation of high-performance communication modules like V2X and 5G in vehicles, boosting the widespread adoption of the Beidou Navigation Satellite System, and facilitating its integration into various sectors such as logistics, sanitation, and transportation services. It also encourages key regions to broaden cross-regional collaborative applications. Moreover, the plan sets forth initiatives to advance pilot programs for the entry and road operation of intelligent connected vehicles, grant conditional production approval for L3 autonomous vehicle models, and foster the refinement of pertinent laws and regulations. Lastly, the plan backs companies in the automotive, information and communication, transportation, and related sectors in exploring novel business models centered around data, and accelerates the development of diversified value chains.
