On September 12, the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation released a notice stating that Zhaoqing XPENG New Energy Investment Co., Ltd. is set to initiate a recall of 47,490 XPENG P7+ vehicles. These vehicles were manufactured from August 20, 2024, to April 27, 2025, and the recall process will commence on September 15, 2025.
The root cause of this recall lies in the poor contact within the steering assist motor sensor wire harness of the affected vehicles. Such poor contact can potentially lead to fluctuations in the steering gear sensor signals. As a result, the steering fault warning light may illuminate, and there could be a loss of steering assist. These issues collectively pose a significant safety risk to drivers.
To address this problem, the company will provide free replacements of the steering gear assemblies with upgraded versions for all the recalled vehicles.
