On September 11, the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance unveiled the monthly data concerning power batteries for August 2025. According to the data, in August, China's total exports of power and other batteries stood at 22.6 GWh. This represented a 2.6% month-on-month decline; however, it also indicated a significant 23.9% year-on-year surge, making up 16.8% of the total sales for that particular month.
Specifically, exports of power batteries reached 15.1 GWh, constituting 66.6% of the overall exports. These figures demonstrated a 1.9% month-on-month rise and an impressive 35.7% year-on-year growth. On the other hand, exports of other batteries amounted to 7.6 GWh, accounting for 33.4% of the total exports. Here, there was a 10.4% month-on-month decrease, yet still a 5.6% year-on-year increase.
From January to August this year, China's cumulative exports of power and other batteries soared to 173.1 GWh, reflecting a robust 48.5% year-on-year increase.
