On September 11, 2025, a number of Neta Auto users got text messages, which were purportedly sent by [Hozon Auto]. The messages claimed that due to Lenovo Docomo Communication Co., Ltd.'s unilateral decision to back out of the 'Connected Vehicle Services Agreement,' Neta Auto would be phasing out its connected vehicle data services. Neta Auto informed its users that in case their vehicles lost internet connectivity, they had the option to independently buy data plans via the Lenovo Docomo WeChat official account. Alternatively, they could reach out to customer service at 4006410041 for any queries. Users were also advised to keep their smart keys handy before making the purchase. Lenovo Docomo Communication clarified that Hozon Auto owed outstanding fees owing to operational hiccups. Despite several months of communication, no agreement was reached. As a result, starting this month, vehicles with unpaid fees would face a gradual suspension of services. In the meantime, Lenovo Docomo rolled out the 'Neta Owner Data Protection Plan' to safeguard users' interests.
