On September 8, the CPCA Branch disclosed that the anti-involution movement is pushing the automotive market towards a scenario characterized by "fewer price cuts and milder promotions," with market operations gradually stabilizing. According to relevant statistics, based on the principle of considering only official price reductions announced by automakers or significant drops in new car prices below the lowest recommended prices over the past two years, 23 car models experienced price cuts in August of this year. This number is lower compared to the 29 models that saw price reductions during the same period last year and the 25 models in the corresponding period of 2023, reflecting a relatively stable market situation.

In August 2025, the promotional intensity for new energy vehicles remained at a mid-to-high range, standing at 10.7%. This represents a year-on-year increase of 2.5 percentage points and a slight month-on-month uptick of 0.5 percentage points. During the same timeframe, the promotional intensity for traditional fuel vehicles held steady at 22.9%, showing a month-on-month decrease of 0.5 percentage points and a year-on-year increase of 0.9 percentage points.
