On September 5, during the 2025 World Intelligent Industry Expo, Zhu Huarong, Chairman of China Changan Automobile Group, pointed out that the automotive sector is rapidly integrating with AI, marking the dawn of the digital and intelligent vehicle era. He envisions that future automobiles will evolve into intelligent automotive robots capable of continuous upgrades.

Zhu projected that by 2030, Level 2 assisted driving will become a standard feature in domestic passenger vehicles, with over 10% of vehicles equipped with Level 3 or higher assisted driving capabilities. Furthermore, he anticipated that China's production and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) will hit 16 million units this year, boasting a market penetration rate exceeding 50%. By 2030, he predicted that 80% of vehicles in the Chinese market will be NEVs, and the global market penetration rate for NEVs will reach 40%. In the long run, automakers offering both traditional fuel vehicle and NEV powertrain options will gain a competitive edge.

Moreover, Zhu Huarong emphasized that the golden opportunity for Chinese automobile brands to expand globally may only span two to three years. He urged the industry to enhance self-discipline, harness technological innovations like AI to cut costs, improve product quality and service experiences, and foster a robust industrial ecosystem.
