Today marks the official implementation of the new national standard for electric bicycles. This standard aims to enhance both safety and efficiency. To improve driving range, it stipulates a maximum weight of 55 kg for lithium-battery models and raises the upper weight limit to 63 kg for lead-acid battery variants. A crucial safety measure introduced is the requirement for manufacturers to improve braking performance and incorporate tamper-proof controls: once the bicycle reaches 25 km/h, the motor will automatically cease power output. Furthermore, the new standard encompasses numerous additional safety and technical advancements.
