On August 29, Great Wall Motors Co., Ltd. submitted a recall plan to the State Administration for Market Regulation, adhering to relevant recall management regulations. The recall encompasses 53 Ora Black Cat pure electric vehicles manufactured between July 2, 2021, and April 30, 2022, as well as 14 Ora White Cat pure electric vehicles produced between July 19, 2021, and December 27, 2021. The rationale behind this recall stems from an issue identified in the production process of the power batteries, where the positive and negative plates within the battery cells may shift, resulting in excessive self-discharge. In severe scenarios, this condition could cause the power battery to overheat, presenting a potential safety hazard.
