BMW Recalls Five Imported iX and M760Le Vehicles Over Potential Thermal Runaway Risks in High-Voltage Power Battery Modules

BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. has submitted a recall plan to the State Administration for Market Regulation, announcing the recall of a total of five imported vehicles, effective from November 1, 2025. The affected models include the iX and M760Le. This recall action stems from discrepancies in the production process, where certain high-voltage power battery module frames might be compromised, potentially resulting in thermal runaway of the batteries under extreme conditions, thereby presenting a safety risk. To mitigate this hazard, BMW will offer a free replacement of the affected battery modules.
