During the first half of 2025, Chongqing witnessed a robust sales performance in the passenger vehicle market, with total sales reaching 224,800 units, marking an 8.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Notably, the cumulative sales of new energy vehicles surged significantly, hitting 124,300 units, a year-on-year jump of 30.7%. This remarkable growth has led to a penetration rate of new energy vehicles in Chongqing as high as 54.3%, underscoring the city's accelerating shift towards greener mobility.
