On August 16, NIO's founder, chairman, and CEO embarked on a journey from Xigaze, Tibet, driving a convoy of the latest ES8 vehicles. The trip culminated at Mount Everest, with the vehicles undergoing battery swaps en route, all broadcast live to viewers. During this live event, it was announced that NIO will officially launch the Western Sichuan Loop Battery Swap Route in September 2025. This initiative will enable both NIO and NIO Life users to immerse themselves in the stunning landscapes of Western Sichuan while experiencing seamless battery swap services along the way. NIO plans to install 13 battery swap stations across the loop, spanning over 1,400 kilometers. Key locations for these stations include Chengdu, Ya'an, Tianquan, and others, with some stations already operational and ready to serve.
