On August 14, Zhao Dong, Director of the Planning Department at FAW Toyota Motor Sales Co., Ltd., released a video to clarify his statements regarding Xiaomi's innovation of terms like "wheel-to-axle ratio." Zhao Dong emphasized that his remarks were meant to foster dialogue, not to criticize. He apologized sincerely if his comments had negatively impacted Xiaomi in any way. Earlier, on August 11, Zhao Dong had noted that the automotive industry did not traditionally recognize the concepts of wheel-to-axle ratio or wheel-to-height ratio. After consulting with the R&D department, he affirmed that Xiaomi had coined these terms but expressed his belief that Xiaomi's axle ratio calculations were inaccurate.
