Japan's Chief Negotiator, Akazawa Ryosei, has urged the United States to promptly issue an executive order reducing automobile tariffs from 25% to 15%. Following a private meeting with congressional representatives, Akazawa informed reporters that Japanese automakers continue to incur losses. He reminded lawmakers of the example of the United Kingdom, which took 54 days to secure an executive order for tax reduction from the US. Akazawa pledged to exert every effort to minimize the impact of taxation and avert an economic downturn.
