At a routine press conference on August 13, Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, emphasized that mainland products, notably new energy vehicles, have garnered global acclaim for their innovative technology and exceptional performance. Cross-Strait cooperation in related sectors has been beneficial to both Taiwan residents and the industry. Nonetheless, driven by self-interest, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities have disregarded the island residents' desire for high-quality products and the industry's plea for cross-Strait industrial collaboration. They have resorted to using "safety" as a pretext to bar Taiwan compatriots from acquiring and utilizing superior mainland products, thereby stifling cross-Strait economic exchanges and cooperation. This action not only infringes upon the rights and interests of cross-Strait enterprises and consumers but also undermines Taiwan's market and business environment.
