On August 11, Bloomberg's technology reporter, Mark Gurman, asserted that the local production of iPhones in the United States is unlikely to materialize within the next decade, and may not happen at all. He underscored that from a cost, scale, and engineering standpoint, Apple is not positioned to commence large-scale iPhone manufacturing in the US in the near future. Gurman further noted that it took Apple nearly a decade to substantially boost iPhone production in India. Consequently, it is anticipated that the most sophisticated iPhone models, including foldable variants and the 20th-anniversary edition, will initially continue to depend entirely on manufacturing in China.
