Lawrence Klein, a resident of Southern California, USA, has initiated legal action in the San Diego Superior Court, accusing Microsoft of its decision to terminate support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. As reported by Tomshardware, Klein personally owns two Windows 10 laptops that will soon be left without official support. He contends that Microsoft's move is strategically designed to compel users to upgrade to new devices capable of running its generative AI software suite, including Copilot, which is exclusively bundled with Windows 11. Although Windows 10 users can upgrade to Windows 11 for free, millions of devices are ineligible for the upgrade due to the absence of Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0. Klein insists that Microsoft should continue offering free support for Windows 10 until its market share dips below 10%.
