Concerns regarding battery life in China's mobile phone market are diminishing. According to the latest report by research firm Counterpoint, the average battery capacity of smartphones in China reached 5,418mAh in May 2025, signifying an 11% year-over-year increase and surpassing the global average by 518mAh. China has consistently led the way in smartphone battery capacity, and the recent proliferation of silicon-carbon (SiC) batteries has further widened this advantage. Presently, the battery capacity of smartphones from most prominent Chinese manufacturers has seen an annual increase of over 10%, with models boasting 6,000mAh or more now accounting for 35% of the market. With this momentum, China is set to usher in the 10,000mAh era next year.
