Flexible AMOLED display panels are swiftly emerging as the dominant display technology in the smartphone market. According to Omdia, shipments of smartphones equipped with these advanced panels reached 151 million units in the first quarter of 2025, marking a substantial year-over-year growth of 15%. Over the past three years, this segment, which encompasses foldable screen phones, has witnessed an impressive average annual growth rate of approximately 20%. This upward trajectory has resulted in annual shipments soaring from 442 million units in 2024 to a projected 566 million units.
