WeChat has introduced a novel feature for iOS users running versions 8.0.61 and above, enabling the sending of live photos in chats. To utilize this feature, users simply need to tap on [+] followed by [Photos] within the chat interface. After selecting the desired photo, they can manually activate the live switch in the large preview to send the dynamic image. Recipients must press the "Live" button to view the animated effect and have the option to save it to their photo album. Notably, the live switch is deactivated by default prior to sending, and this functionality is currently unavailable on Android and HarmonyOS due to compatibility constraints. Furthermore, users can edit live photos to remove sound, and non-original photos will undergo compression during transmission, although this does not detract from the viewing experience. Once sent, the dynamic effect of live photos cannot be disabled.
