Sony has announced the temporary suspension of shipments and sales of its Xperia 1 VII smartphone in Japan, Singapore, and other regions due to reported issues including unexpected shutdowns, spontaneous restarts, and an inability to power on in certain units. The company is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the root cause of these problems and is advising all users to back up their essential data as a precautionary measure. The Xperia 1 VII, priced at approximately $1400 for the unlocked version, was launched just last month. Prior to Sony's announcement, Japanese carriers NTT Docomo and KDDI had already halted sales of the device.
