Recently, both Romoss and Anker have issued recalls for certain models of their mobile power banks due to concerns over spontaneous combustion risks. Romoss recalled approximately 500,000 power banks that might overheat due to issues with the raw materials used in their battery cells. Similarly, Anker recalled over 700,000 mobile power banks, citing potential safety hazards stemming from quality defects in the incoming battery cells. Prior to these recalls, several universities in Beijing had already banned the use of Romoss 20,000mAh power banks due to their propensity for explosion. Consumers are advised to stay informed about recall notices and refrain from using any recalled products.
