According to a collaborative research report by Apple analyst Jeff Pu and GF Securities, the iPhone 17 base model will reportedly sport the same A18 chip as its predecessor, the iPhone 16 base model. This chip is manufactured using TSMC's second-generation 3nm process (N3E), a detail that has sparked some disappointment among consumers who were hoping for new technological advancements. The A18 chip boasts a 6-core CPU and a 4-core GPU, both fabricated through TSMC's N3E process, and leverages cutting-edge packaging technology to enhance Apple's Intelligence features. Meanwhile, it is anticipated that higher-end iPhone 17 models, like the Air and Pro series, will come equipped with even more advanced A19 or A19 Pro chips.
