Amid escalating tariffs between the US and China and supply chain pressures, Tim Cook announced that Apple is intensifying its manufacturing efforts in India. Over the past year, iPhone assembly in India has surged to $22 billion, marking a nearly 60% increase year-on-year, with shipments accounting for 20% of the global total. Notably, India now boasts the capability to assemble the entire iPhone product line, contributing significantly to the fact that half of iPhone sales in the US during the second quarter originated from Indian manufacturing.
