By 2025, the global PC industry chain is poised for a major transformation, with leading international brands such as Apple and HP spearheading the relocation of their supply chains from China to Southeast Asia. This strategic shift is primarily fueled by the region's competitive labor costs and robust manufacturing infrastructure. It is anticipated that the production share of American brands in Southeast Asia will escalate from roughly 15% in 2024 to a range of 20-25%. Despite Southeast Asia's notable advantage in labor costs, the region's self-sufficiency within the PC industry supply chain remains inadequate, with the majority of essential components still reliant on imports from China. Initially, these brands will primarily divert low-end, cost-sensitive PC orders to Southeast Asia. However, with the expansion of production capacities and the enhancement of the supply chain, Southeast Asia is projected to gradually take on more mid-to-high-end PC production tasks in the future.
