The Kunming Municipal Government Office has unveiled the "Kunming City's Policy Measures for Economic Stabilization and Quality Enhancement in 2025," explicitly outlining plans to broaden the scope of the consumer goods 'trade-in' program. These measures encompass organizing promotional events such as home renovation expos and e-commerce live streaming sessions in communities, enterprises, and townships to facilitate the upgrade of cars, home appliances, home decor, digital gadgets, and electric bicycles. Notably, subsidies will be granted for four categories of home appliances: microwaves, water purifiers, dishwashers, and rice cookers. Furthermore, three types of digital products – mobile phones, tablets, and smartwatches/bracelets – will also qualify for purchase incentives. Additionally, the policy extends to eligible fuel-powered passenger vehicles meeting National IV emission standards, which fall under the ambit of vehicle scrapping and replacement subsidies.
