TrendForce data indicates that global smartphone panel shipments are anticipated to reach 2.157 billion units in 2024, marking an 11.4% year-on-year increase and setting a new high in recent years. This surge is primarily fueled by the uptick in new smartphone sales and the growing demand for refurbished and reconditioned handsets. Nonetheless, shipments are forecast to dip by 3.2% to 2.093 billion units in 2025, as demand for new devices stabilizes and demand for refurbished models might experience a slight decline. In the global smartphone panel market, BOE and Samsung Display (SDC) lead the pack in terms of shipments, ranking first and second, respectively. Furthermore, the market share of panel manufacturers based in mainland China has continued to expand, reaching 69.8% in 2024 and poised to exceed 70% in 2025, underscoring their pivotal role in the global smartphone supply chain.
