After a decade of technical certification and breakthroughs, three founders in China's private rocket sector—Zhang Changwu of LandSpace, Kang Yonglai of Space Pioneer, and Yang Yiqiang of CAS Space—have appeared on the 2026 Hurun Rich List for the first time, with net worths of RMB 11 billion, RMB 9 billion, and RMB 7 billion, respectively. The three took different entrepreneurial paths: Zhang Changwu is a cross-sector capital integrator, while Kang Yonglai and Yang Yiqiang both came from the traditional aerospace system. Their technical routes also diverge, opting respectively for liquid oxygen methane, liquid oxygen kerosene, and parallel solid-liquid development. All three companies are advancing toward IPOs, with LandSpace and CAS Space relatively further along, but none is currently profitable, and profitability is not expected before 2029 at the earliest. The three founders' combined on-paper wealth of RMB 27 billion stems from market expectations of corporate value, reflecting primary-market recognition of the long-cycle, high-barrier, and large-market-space nature of China's commercial aerospace sector. China's commercial aerospace industry is currently transitioning from the experimental verification stage to the normalized constellation-building stage, with the industry scale expanding rapidly.
