The unmanned delivery industry is riding a new wave of capital excitement. Neolix, a frontrunner in this field, has recently declared the successful completion of an oversubscribed Series E funding round, raising nearly US$400 million. This latest injection of capital pushes its total funding to surpass RMB 10 billion. As the industry shifts from technology verification to commercial deployment, Neolix anticipates its revenue to soar to 2-3 times that of the previous year, with its business scale expected to triple this year.
At present, Neolix has successfully validated a profitable business model for individual unmanned vehicles, boasting a gross margin exceeding 60% per unit. Nevertheless, the company has not yet attained overall profitability, with plans to achieve this milestone by 2027. Neolix is now in the process of transforming its business model, transitioning from selling unmanned vehicles to offering transportation capacity services. It will delegate the manufacturing process to partner automakers, allowing it to concentrate on core competencies such as algorithm development and operational management.
Neolix's operations already span over 20 countries, yet overseas revenue contributes to less than 10% of its total income. Looking ahead, the company aims to expedite its overseas expansion through local joint venture models, with the ambition of having overseas revenue outstrip domestic revenue within the next 3-6 years. By the end of this year, Neolix is striving to deploy an operational fleet of approximately 40,000 vehicles. The company firmly believes that safety will be a pivotal factor in the industry's development over the next three years. It recognizes the need to build multi-dimensional systemic capabilities to translate per-unit cost advantages into sustained overall profits, thereby substantiating the value of this latest round of capital investment.
