On October 25, memory prices have skyrocketed in the short term due to the escalating demand for AI, triggering a significant slump in PC demand. According to data from market research firm Counterpoint Research, global PC shipments stood at 57 million units in the third quarter of this year, marking a 21% year-on-year decrease and a 13.8% quarter-on-quarter decline. Counterpoint's analysis highlights that, despite the urge to replace outdated devices and upgrade to the latest version of the Windows operating system, consumers are still opting to postpone their PC purchases, leading to a substantial drop in overall shipments. Among manufacturers, Lenovo shipped 15 million units, experiencing a 23% year-on-year decrease, yet managed to retain its leading position with a 26.3% market share; HP shipped 10.3 million units, witnessing a 31% year-on-year decline, ranking second in terms of market share.
