On October 19, 2026, an overseas developer named Makr achieved a remarkable feat by successfully porting the iOS 16 system onto the Redmi Note 12 4G smartphone. Moreover, Makr has made the project code publicly accessible. This port leverages Apple's open-source XNU kernel and incorporates user interface elements from the iPhone X. Presently, the device is capable of booting up to the iOS lock screen interface. Both the touchscreen and physical buttons are operational, although essential functions such as making calls and networking capabilities have not yet been fully adapted.
