A survey conducted overseas, focusing on Android users, has uncovered that among those keeping an eye on foldable smartphones, a significant 43.7% are open to the idea of switching to Apple's inaugural foldable smartphone, tentatively named the iPhone Duo. Within this group, 26.4% have unequivocally stated their intention to make the switch, whereas 17.3% have indicated they would consider it, contingent upon improvements in camera performance. When considering the entire pool of respondents, 38.9% displayed no interest in foldable smartphones at all. On the other hand, 34.4% expressed a desire to stick with Android foldable smartphones, 16.1% were enthusiastic about switching to the iPhone Duo, and 10.6% were intrigued but wished for better camera capabilities. After filtering out those uninterested in foldable smartphones, it was found that 56.3% still preferred to continue using Android foldable smartphones. It's important to note that this survey predominantly targeted Android users, and thus, the findings are indicative solely of this particular demographic's sentiments. The anticipated iPhone Duo is rumored to boast a screen with minimal visible creases, a broader body design, and exclusive software features, all packaged at a price point of $1,999. Nevertheless, factors such as cost, camera quality, and the freedom to use the system as they wish are perceived as hurdles that might deter users from switching. Additionally, some users mentioned that they would give priority to comparing foldable offerings from brands like Samsung, Vivo, Honor, and OPPO before making a decision.
