On October 9, Counterpoint Research released its Shipment and Technology Report for Premium IT Display Panels, stating that the shipments of premium notebook display screens (including OLED and MiniLED) are expected to grow by 11% year-on-year in 2026. However, the overall market is projected to decline by 3% year-on-year due to rising storage and bill-of-materials costs. Among them, OLED notebook panel shipments are expected to increase by 50% year-on-year, with an additional 24% growth in 2027, primarily driven by Apple's adoption of OLED in its next-generation MacBook Pro and demand for high-end AI PCs. In contrast, MiniLED notebook panel shipments are expected to decline by 38% year-on-year, with a 60% drop in 2027, as manufacturers shift towards OLED technology. On the technological front, the expansion of Tandem OLED architecture, Visionox ViP technology, LG Display FLiPP technology, phosphorescent blue OLED emitter materials, and the production scale of 8.7th-generation oxide backplanes are all contributing to enhanced OLED panel performance and cost reductions. Counterpoint Research forecasts that from 2024 to 2030, the compound annual growth rates for OLED notebook panel shipments and revenue will reach 26% and 35%, respectively.
