Apple’s first-ever foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, is scheduled to be available for pre-order starting at 20:00 on October 16, with prices beginning at 15,999 yuan. As of the time of reporting, reservations on JD.com have exceeded 1.982 million. According to the platform’s policies, new products such as the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro series must be activated and signed for in person. Consumers are required to work with delivery personnel to unpack and activate the device upon receipt, with the delivery personnel taking photos for documentation. Orders that fail to comply with this procedure will be canceled, and payments will be refunded via the original payment method.
The iPhone Duo boasts a horizontally folding book-style design. When unfolded, it offers a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display, marking the largest screen size in the iPhone lineup. Its inner screen incorporates under-display camera technology, achieving a hole-free, full-screen display. Meanwhile, the outer screen measures 5.4 inches, delivering a user experience indistinguishable from that of a conventional smartphone when folded. The device is powered by TSMC’s 2nm process A20 Pro chip, comes with 12GB of memory, and features Apple’s next-generation in-house C2 cellular modem.
