Samsung Electronics has officially rolled out the third-generation Bluetooth tracker, the Galaxy SmartTag 3. In comparison to its forerunner, this new iteration boasts a nearly 35% reduction in volume and a 33% decrease in weight. It sports a sleek, rounded design complemented by an aluminum decorative button, merging a sophisticated look with robustness. The device is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance, comes with a replaceable CR2032 button cell battery, and promises a maximum battery lifespan of up to 550 days under typical usage scenarios. This lifespan can be further prolonged to 790 days when the power-saving mode is activated. Marking a significant milestone as the inaugural product in the series to embrace cross-platform functionality, the Galaxy SmartTag 3 facilitates seamless interconnection between Galaxy and iOS devices. It enhances search capabilities over extended ranges through the Galaxy Find Network, which encompasses over 900 million devices. Nevertheless, certain functionalities are constrained on the iOS platform, with iPhone users restricted to basic search and location-sharing features via the Samsung SmartThings app. The Galaxy SmartTag 3 is available in black and white hues, with its initial launch scheduled for South Korea on October 7. It is anticipated to hit the U.S. market in early November, priced at $29.99 for a single unit and $99.99 for a four-pack, adhering to the pricing structure of its predecessor, the SmartTag 2.
