Google has formally announced that certain Chromebook laptops will have the capability to be upgraded to the Googlebook OS system. However, the precise models that will support this upgrade, along with the timeline for the upgrade process, remain undisclosed at this juncture. In tandem with this, Google is diligently working on enhancing the comprehensive enterprise management features for Googlebook, with an anticipated launch in the latter half of 2027. This month, in a collaborative effort with partners including Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo, Google unveiled the inaugural five Googlebook laptops. These cutting-edge laptops come pre-installed with the Googlebook OS system, which leverages the Android technology stack and is fundamentally built upon Chrome OS. Pre-sales for these laptops have commenced, with the official sales set to commence on October 4.
