Amazon is gearing up to significantly broaden the reach of its Prime Air drone delivery service, with plans to extend from a select few test cities to nearly 500 towns across the United States by 2026. Yet, in regions where the service is already up and running, such as Richardson, Texas, a wave of discontent has swept through the community. Residents are voicing their strong displeasure over the incessant noise generated by the frequent drone flights, claiming that it has taken a severe toll on their day-to-day lives. Despite numerous complaints pouring in from the locals, communities find themselves with limited effective recourse to put a stop to the operations, largely due to the constraints imposed by federal aviation regulations. In response, Amazon has attempted to mitigate the issue by raising the flight altitude of its drones and tweaking their flight paths. However, these efforts have fallen short of completely resolving the noise problem.
