Samsung has recently admitted that a problematic software update led to the sudden shutdown of certain smart refrigerators in South Korea, impairing their fundamental cooling capabilities. Customers have noted that during the update process, the refrigerators either experienced a total loss of power or froze up, with the SmartThings app indicating the devices as being offline. This resulted in food spoilage due to the refrigerators' inability to sustain proper cooling.
