Apple might increase the prices of certain iPhone models next year. Based on the most recent updates, Apple has agreed to Samsung Electronics’ proposal to raise memory prices for the upcoming generation of iPhones. As memory costs keep climbing, the financial strain is likely to be passed on to consumers in the end. Driven by the soaring demand for AI servers, memory chip producers like Samsung and SK Hynix have redirected their production capabilities towards high-margin High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and large-capacity storage solutions. This shift has led to a decrease in the availability of memory chips for mobile phones, sparking a notable surge in the prices of mobile phone memory components. Consequently, Apple has already implemented price hikes for Macs, iPads, and select iPhone models, with the iPhone 17 series experiencing an RMB 800 price increase, and the base price of the iPhone 18 Pro rising by RMB 1000.
