On September 17, reports emerged that Filmstorm Tim had recently published a review video of Apple’s first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo. In the video, Tim noted that while the iPhone Duo maintains a normal temperature during everyday use, it becomes notably hot below the camera area during video recording and other high-intensity tasks. He went so far as to label it one of the “hottest phones” he has ever tested. Additionally, Tim shared an incident from the testing session on the day of Apple’s event: when he bent the unfolded device backward, he didn’t observe any issues at first. However, upon later reviewing the footage, he discovered that the phone’s external screen had begun flickering.
In response to these claims, Apple’s customer service clarified that the iPhone Duo is not yet available for pre-order in mainland China. They also pointed out that a single device test conducted by an online blogger may not provide a complete or representative assessment. Instead, they encouraged consumers to visit offline stores and try the product for themselves after its official launch.
Regarding the overheating issue, Apple’s customer service explained that new devices often require an adaptation period of three to five days. If overheating problems persist and are determined to be hardware-related, customers can have their devices inspected and resolved through Apple’s technical support team or at authorized offline stores.
