According to TechCrunch, Google has introduced the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server within the Google Home ecosystem, enabling AI smart assistants that support MCP to securely connect to smart home devices and access event logs. Users can view camera summaries, monitor home activities, control devices, and build their own smart home dashboards through natural language commands. This feature is currently available to Google Home Premium Advanced subscribers in the United States.
