Samsung Electronics has commenced the rollout of the One UI 9 update in South Korea from today, with intentions to progressively broaden the spectrum of compatible devices and eventually deploy it on a global scale. This update, which made its debut in tandem with the latest iteration of the Galaxy Z series in July this year, unveils and refines a plethora of features. In the realm of AI, a novel 'My FanCam' character-tracking functionality has been incorporated, while the existing Galaxy AI features now boast a higher degree of personalization. Moreover, the translation, document scanning, and voice recording capabilities have undergone enhancements. For device administration, the 'Warranty and Care' menu offers comprehensive services in one convenient location. On the security front, a new 'Security Brief' feature provides a concise summary of security concerns, 'Privacy Alerts' deliver early warnings regarding potential privacy threats, measures against voice phishing have been fortified, a cutting-edge AI voice alteration detection system has been introduced, and the scope of countries covered by 'Scam Detection' has been broadened. This update is initially being implemented on the Galaxy S26 series.
