JD.com is gearing up to introduce its "Qixian Chef (CheFresh)" service, spearheaded by Liu Bin. This initiative is tailored to cater to the dining needs of middle-class and affluent households. It boasts a comprehensive service chain that spans "AI-driven health recommendations—personalized nutrition plan creation—delivery of meal-ready vegetables—utilization of smart cooking appliances," and is currently in its nascent exploratory phase.
Through the CheFresh mini-program, users can easily upload their health information to receive bespoke meal plans. JD.com will then deliver the corresponding meal-ready vegetable boxes. When combined with smart cooking devices, such as the intelligent stir-frying robot powered by JoyInside AI technology, these boxes enable effortless and automated cooking. The introductory package, which includes both the service and equipment, is priced at approximately 20,000 yuan. This package also features a 15,000 yuan credit for ordering meal-ready vegetables, initially covering around 200 dishes.
The Qixian Chef service has already secured preliminary internal approval from JD.com. Moving forward, the company plans to forge brand and channel partnerships, as well as regularly organize tasting events for high-net-worth individuals. With this strategic move, JD.com has essentially achieved a comprehensive catering consumption layout, catering to all demographics, time slots, and scenarios.
