Canon (China) has declared its intention to roll out the computer application software, Dual Pixel 3D Converter, commencing October 8, 2026. Harnessing the power of Canon's proprietary Dual Pixel CMOS phase-detection autofocus technology, this innovative software is capable of converting DPRAW images, snapped with compatible EOS R system cameras, or JPEG images embedded with distance data captured by the EOS R8 Mark II, into exquisite 3D models. Users are afforded the flexibility to execute a range of operations, including maintaining composition, isolating subjects, fine-tuning stereoscopic effects, incorporating motion and backgrounds, and swapping out textures. The software also seamlessly facilitates importation into widely-utilized 3D editing software. Furthermore, Canon has outlined plans to introduce related enterprise solutions within the calendar year of 2026.
