On September 15, during Midea Group's online briefing on its semi-annual report performance for 2026, Chairman and President Fang Hongbo announced that the company is set to robustly expand its secondary core businesses, including robotics and new energy, in the second half of the year. Additionally, Midea plans to innovate its overseas business models for autonomous brands, aiming to achieve localized operations. As of June 2026, Midea boasts nearly 50,000 employees overseas, with revenue generated from its overseas autonomous brand businesses accounting for over half of the total overseas revenue from its smart home sector. In the first half of the year, Midea made significant progress by establishing five overseas supply chain delivery centers in Thailand, Egypt, and other strategic locations, thereby optimizing the global distribution of its home appliance production capabilities.
