Recently, a concerned netizen posted a message on the official website of the China Earthquake Administration, urging the acceleration of the integration of earthquake early warning information into Apple's iOS system. The netizen highlighted that leading smartphone brands, including Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO (encompassing OnePlus and realme), and vivo, already offer official national earthquake early warning services through their built-in system functionalities. In contrast, Apple iPhones have yet to incorporate such system-level integration.
On September 11, the Monitoring and Forecasting Department of the China Earthquake Administration issued a response, revealing that the China Earthquake Networks Center is actively engaged in discussions with Apple. The aim is to expedite the integration of earthquake early warning information into the iOS system. At present, iPhone users can access earthquake early warning information uniformly disseminated by the earthquake administration via WeChat mini-programs, providing a temporary solution until system-level integration is achieved.
